The concept is embodied in an interactive book, where each page features a unique image of water or waves. The book is designed with Japanese binding, and its pages are poster-sized (24x36 inches). To turn to the next page, the user must tear the page at the top, triggering a water-like sound that enhances the meditative experience. As each page is ripped, it creates a wave-like sound that immerses the user in a sensory journey, while the undulating shapes on both sides of the book symbolize the user’s connection with water. The physical act of tearing the pages becomes a ritual that encourages mindfulness and stress relief. The project is also documented in a 2-minute video, capturing the process and experience of interaction. The essay describes how each track from Maus’s album Love is Real reflects a distinct facet of his artistic universe, which served as the foundation for the design concept. Each spread in the book features the title of one of the album’s tracks, paired with a cropped photograph of a human body. This imagery subtly immerses the reader in Maus’s aesthetic world, inviting them to experience the album’s essence in an abstract, ambiguous way. Hidden texts throughout the book encourage readers to listen deeply and interpret Maus’s music and the essay’s themes for themselves, fostering a personal connection to the work. To counter this, the campaign promotes the idea that every person is an art piece deserving of care and respect, encouraging individuals to treat one another with love and empathy. The campaign includes a series of posters and postcards designed to inspire connection. The posters, sized 18x24 inches, feature powerful messaging that reinforces the value of human connection. The postcards, designed as puzzle pieces (5x3.5 inches), invite interaction by encouraging people to find others who have matching pieces. This playful yet meaningful activity fosters engagement and unity, encouraging people to come together and recognize the importance of treating each other as works of art. Inspired by this, I started collecting short, spontaneous thoughts from random New Yorkers in ordinary locations across the city. The project consists of 15 short video narratives, each capturing a brief moment from daily life. These moments are paired with subtitles that elaborate on the thoughts or reflections occurring in that instant. Each video is carefully directed to highlight the essence of the moment, with attention to the scene, sounds, and the timing of the subtitles to create a focused, immersive experience.
